PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) - A 24-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly held a Panama City mother and her two young sons hostage after attempting to murder her.

According to court documents, around 3 p.m. Monday, Christopher Miles was visiting the victims from out of town when an argument started between him and the mother.

Officers said that Miles had become enraged and threw the mother to the couch and began hitting her back with closed fists. He then allegedly put her in a chokehold.

Officers reported that the mother said Miles allegedly only stopped choking her after one of her sons tried to get him to stop.

Miles then allegedly repeated that he was going to kill her and her sons if she tried to leave or call the police.
