Deputy Director of Recruitment in the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Esther Kathumba, has resigned.
In a letter addressed to the party’s Secretary General, Kathumba said she made the decision in response to weaknesses she has observed in the party’s operations.
Among other issues, Kathumba cited the failure to properly implement party rules and regulations, internal divisions and lack of coordination, mistreatment of some staff members, and inadequate resources to effectively carry out their duties.
She urged MCP leaders to address these challenges and restore adherence to the party’s rules and regulations to ensure the party functions effectively.
As of now, MCP is yet to comment on the matter.
