HOUSTON – Fleet Week Houston, scheduled to take place from Nov. 5 through 12, has been postponed to next year due to the ongoing government shutdown.

The City of Houston announced on Wednesday. The decision was made in coordination with U.S. Navy leadership as the ongoing government shutdown presented significant challenges in executing the original dates for the event.

“It’s disappointing that Fleet Week Houston had to be rescheduled because of the government shutdown,” said Mayor John Whitmire. “I want the city’s first fleet week to be an exceptional experience for everyone. The date changes help to ensure we have the time and resources to plan an extraordinary event.”
