DEWITT TWP., Mich. (WILX) - Trick-or-treating is a Halloween staple for a lot of children. For children with disabilities, this tradition can be tough.

The Miracle League of Mid-Michigan is hosting a special event that allows children in wheelchairs or with other disabilities to enjoy trick-or-treating in a way that better suits their needs.

Typically, children race from house to house, block to block, collecting as much candy as they can. But for John Calveneau and his son Mason, Halloween night can look a little different.

Mason uses a power chair and is nonverbal, which can make trick-or-treating difficult.
