CLEVELAND, Ohio — St. Edward coach Tom Lombardo challenged his players Saturday after their 35-10 victory against Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller.
With a short week until Friday’s trip to Archbishop Hoban in Akron, Lombardo likened it to an acclimation for the playoffs. The Eagles (8-1), who are ranked No. 2 in this week’s cleveland.com high school football Top 25 , will get one of their toughest tests in an already difficult schedule from No. 4 Hoban (7-1).
“We play a brutal schedule every week, and you got to keep raising your game,” Lombardo said. “I think we took that jump that sent a message of what’s the top (level) we can play.”
