Mumbai: The family of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput has objected to the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) closure report in the 2020 death case, calling it “an eyewash” and accusing the agency of not presenting complete details before the court. The family has said it will challenge the report, which gives actor Rhea Chakraborty and others a clean chit.
The CBI, in its closure report, concluded that Rajput’s death was a case of suicide and found no evidence of foul play or abetment to suicide by Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, or any other individual. The report said that between June 8 and June 14, 2020, none of the accused were staying with Rajput, and that Rhea had left his apartment on June 8 — six days before the actor was found dead.
