PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Apple Cinemas is a week away from taking over the movie theater at the Providence Place Mall.

A judge approved a new lease that would see Apple Cinemas take over the space to be vacated early by Showcase Cinemas after their lease deal ended early.

A court-appointed operator for the mall filed a petition in October for Apple Cinemas to take over the theater.

According to a Providence Place Mall spokesperson, the move-in will take place on November 1.

The theater will be upgraded with the change as well.
