An Australian woman was slammed by several sections of the internet after calling Diwali decorations in a Sydney suburb a “threat” to Western culture.

In a post on X, Kobie Thatcher shared a video of homes in Nirimba Fields, Sydney, dazzling with lights during Diwali celebrations.

“These houses are not lit up for Christmas. They are lit up for Diwali. Just about everyone in this neighbourhood of Nirimba Fields is Indian. The West has reached a pivotal moment. We must preserve our own culture before we lose it,” Thatcher said in the caption of her post.
