MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- One person died in a Wednesday two-vehicle crash in Marion County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 3:20 p.m. on Highway 501 and Penderboro Road. A 2019 GMC SUV was driving south on Hwy. 501 and a 2009 Chevrolet Sedan was driving east on Penderboro Road.

The two cars collided at the intersection, and the driver of the Chevrolet died. The driver of the GMC was taken to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Count on News13 for updates.
