With no end to the government shutdown in sight, Senate Republicans will try a new tactic today, teeing up a vote on Sen. Ron Johnson’s (R-WI) bill to pay active-duty military members and federal employees required to work during the shutdown, Politico reports.

Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner reports Sen. John Thune (R-SD) is also readying possible votes next week on paying air traffic controllers and the military.
