HYDERABAD: Mohammed Ahmed of Hyderabad, who was allegedly defrauded by a job agent and sent to Russia, has reportedly signed a contract to serve in the Russian army. Russian military documents in the possession of TOI show that Ahmed was assigned a service number after formally signing a one-year contract. The number has been engraved on a metal tag. In voice notes and videos, Ahmed said he had no choice but to join the army after a Mumbai-based job agent deceived him. He is currently in Russia near the Ukrainian border and said he would be sent deeper into the war zone. Ahmed was taken to Russia in April this year and was initially given no work, despite promises of a job in the construction sector.
