JAMESTOWN — A win for the Jamestown High School football team won't get the Blue Jays to the playoffs.

But, it would still be helpful.

"For the seniors (this game) is about how they want to leave their legacy and for the underclassmen it's an opportunity to jump-start next year and end this year on a positive note," JHS head football coach Bill Nelson said. "It's sad seeing kids be done, but that is high school athletics."

Nelson and his crew will play their final game of the year on Friday against Bismarck St. Mary's. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium. Jamestown is entering the matchup at 1-7 while the Saints are 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the West Region.

"Outside of Brady (Nenow) and Edison (Walters), we're as healthy as we've been all year," Nelson said.
