ANN ARBOR, MI - Residents in and around University of Michigan were asked to shelter in place as police investigated a possible firearm incident early Thursday.
Ann Arbor police briefly closed South Division Street between East Jefferson Street and Packard streets shortly after 8 a.m., Oct. 23 for possible shots fired, police said in a release.
Police clarified at 8:24 a.m. that there was no evidence of shots fired and no active threat to the community. Police reopened the area.
Area residents were asked to shelter in place, according to information from the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.
