The current setup of the MCU and its story around one particular hero means the franchise ideally can't have said protagonist face off against Doctor Doom unless the plan is to kill him off in Avengers: Doomsday anyway. Over the course of the MCU timeline , we've been introduced to a thrilling and harrowing number of Marvel heroes and villains, with a range of different skillsets.
Of course, some of the MCU's heroes have been more powerful than others - and some are so powerful that they present narrative challenges in terms of ensuring viewers feel like a movie or show's conflicts are engaging and suitably balanced.
