LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Former Pistons star guard and current Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach Chauncey Billups has reportedly been arrested by the FBI for alleged illegal gambling.
ESPN’s Shams Charania broke the news Thursday morning. ABC News reported Thursday that Billups’ arrest was in relation to an illegal poker operation that is tied to the Mafia. Billups was arrested in Oregon and is expected to appear in court for the first time Thursday.
It was not immediately known what charges Billups is facing.
Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was also arrested Thursday morning as part of an FBI sports betting probe, according to the report by ESPN.
The FBI is expected to release more information at a press conference at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
