A boundary commission has been established to explore the notion of adding some Illinois counties to Indiana.

Seventy of Illinois’ 102 counties are involved in the state split movement.

In the Tri-State area, White, Edwards, Wabash, and Wayne counties have expressed interest in leaving the state.

At Wednesday’s meeting, several people spoke, saying the proposition is mutually beneficial and could make Indiana a powerhouse state.
