India captain Shubman Gill acknowledged that dropped catches and an insufficient total were crucial factors in his team’s defeat, as Australia secured the ODI series with a disciplined all-round performance on Wednesday.

India lost the second ODI by two wickets following a seven-wicket loss in the first match at Perth. The Indian fielders were not at their best, missing at least three opportunities, including a chance to dismiss Matthew Short, who scored a commendable 74 off 78 balls.
