LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is hoping an Executive Directive signed Wednesday will help younger Michiganders navigate the housing market and find affordable housing in the state.

Executive Directive No. 2025-8 aims to build on affordable housing programs already available with help from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). It lays out three directives from the governor:

MSHDA should continue to review the way it communicates and markets its programming related to better understanding barriers to homeownership and developing strategies to overcome them.
