KEARNEY, Neb. —

Two men killed in a plane crash near Kearney faced a lawsuit over a previous crash.

In August, the Federal Aviation Administration said the Kearney Airport lost contact with an overdue aircraft before it crashed.

Officials said the two occupants of the aircraft, 77-year-old Dr. Mark Meyer and 72-year-old Kent Magnuson, were found dead at the scene.

In a previous lawsuit, two plaintiffs boarded an aircraft that was flown by Meyer and Magnuson.

They alleged the plane was negligently maintained and operated, resulting in a crash as they were landing.

Both plaintiffs suffered injuries and had more than $700,000 in medical expenses.
