OAKLAND, Calif. —
A new e-bike company, ALSO, unveiled its first three products Wednesday morning in Oakland.
The first was a standard e-bike with the ability to change seats, allowing riders to take it on different types of trips. The second was a quad bike, where the rider is able to transport several people behind them. The last product was a bicycle cargo van, which will be used by delivery drivers.
"If you think about how people move around the world, they are typically on things smaller than a car," said ALSO co-founder Chris Yu. "They just haven’t been electrified.”
Backed by electric car company Rivian, ALSO uses battery technology they say will last longer and be more efficient for riders. There is also a feature where riders can detach the battery and use it to charge other d
