Grand Junction High School tennis player Maximus Kintz has been selected the recipient of the 2025 Charlie and Ira Brown Award, according to a release from the Colorado chapter of the United States Tennis Association.
Beginning in 1987, the award has given annually to recognize a member of the tennis community who displays “sportsmanship, leadership and achievement on and off the court,” according to the organization.
This year, the sophomore Kintz earned the award for his work in helping organize the third annual Festival of Frights tennis tournament, which will be Friday and Saturday at the Elliot Tennis Center. The two-day doubles tournament will also feature a Halloween costume contest Saturday evening as well as standard tournament play.
