SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Federal law enforcement arriving in the San Francisco Bay Area were met by protests that formed early Thursday morning. The Trump administration is deploying more than 100 federal agents to San Francisco, including members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to KRON4 network partner NewsNation.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said federal agents will be going into San Francisco “at the direction of the president.” On Wednesday, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie signed an executive directive preparing for possible federal deployment.
The contingent of federal forces has been dispatched to Coast Guard Island in Alameda, according to NewsNation’s sources. The Coast Guard is
