Morale was high throughout the night Tuesday as the Boone County Republican Party gathered for its annual chili supper.

Applause filled the American Legion Hall time after time as a series of speakers reflected on recent political developments and outlined priorities for the upcoming year. Speakers and attendees expressed pride in the Republican Party's progress at both state and federal levels.

Chris Arps, a radio host from NewsTalkStL who served as master of ceremonies, opened the program with remarks on election integrity and criticizing what he described as misplaced priorities from Democrats in Washington. He also commended President Donald Trump's record in office.
