A familiar sports broadcaster has been officially inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
During a reception at the Hall of Fame on Monday (Oct. 20), the event saw five athletes, three builder-coaches, one team, one pioneer, one media member and the winner of the prestigious W.A.C. Bennett Award join the Honoured Member ranks.
White Rock’s own Jim Hughson — a familiar face and voice to anyone who watched any professional sports over the past four decades was inducted in the media category.
A longtime play-by-play commentator who enjoyed a 42-year career that includes a dozen Stanley Cup finals, two World Series and two Olympic Games, Hughson was born and raisde in Fort St. John. The longtime broadcaster called his first game on radio in 1979, and spent time broadcast
