GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — Gainesville police officers say drivers should plan their commute Thursday afternoon as they escort “The Brotherhood Ride” that’s biking into town.

GPD posted online that the riders are expected to arrive around 4 p.m. Officers will escort them from the south city limits up 13th Street to Northwest 23rd Avenue.

The Brotherhood Ride is a ten-day bike ride throughout the state of Florida to honor fallen first responders and their families.

Around 8 a.m. on Friday, GPD will again provide an escort as the riders continue their journey north on Waldo Road from Northwest 23rd Avenue.
