LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Louisville Metro Department of Corrections employee has been arrested and charged with official misconduct after police say he inappropriately used emergency lights on his vehicle while in traffic.
The incident occurred back in June. According to court documents, Bradley Hansford was driving across the Second Street Bridge into Indiana when he activated a spotlight and emergency lights on a vehicle ahead of him. After he passed the vehicle, he turned the lights off and continued northbound.
The person in the vehicle ahead of him was an off-duty St. Matthews Police officer who called 911 because he believed the person was going to carjack him.
Once in Indiana, the off-duty officer followed Hansford and updated dispatch.
