New Delhi: The Indian Railways has set up a war room at Rail Bhavan to monitor the movement of special trains being operated during the festive season, amid heavy passenger rush and congestion on major routes. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday inspected the facility and reviewed its functioning.
Vaishnaw said the monitoring system has been established at three levels — division, zone, and the Railway Board. The board-level war room receives live feeds from divisional and zonal control rooms. Mini control centres have also been created at major railway stations to track passenger flow, train delays, and operational challenges.
