The former education boss at South Ayrshire Council has quit his new £166k role as head of Glasgow's schools in a row over text messages.
Douglas Hutchison sent texts to a councillor which were deemed enough to 'potentially undermine' the council's budget process.
Hutchison was the Director of People and Depute Chief Executive under then South Ayrshire Council Chief Executive, Eileen Howat.
He then become Executive Director of Education in Glasgow in January 2022.
Hutchison responded to text messages about the 2024/2025 budget from a Glasgow councillor in the spring of last year.
While the detail of the response given to the councillor via text is not known, Glasgow City Council released a statement which said it not only had the potential to undermine the budg
