Udupi, Oct 23: In a heart-rending incident with a message for today’s youth, a young woman deceived by her lover and left pregnant was saved from a tragic fate by the swift and sensitive intervention of social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpady.

Acting through a local counselling and rehabilitation centre, Shetty provided the distraught woman with shelter, medical care, and a new lease of life.

The woman, employed in a major metropolitan city outside the state, was abandoned after becoming pregnant.
