HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - WTOC has received multiple calls about a coyote roaming around Ridgewood Way in Hinesville this morning, October 23, 2025.

One caller says the coyote showed up this morning around 9:00 a.m.

The caller told WTOC that they are worried about children in the neighborhood, and there is a school bus stop nearby.

If a coyote is suspected in an area where domestic animals are roaming free, the DNR says several precautions can be made to ensure their safety:

Take pets indoors during the night, as this is the coyote’s primary hunting time.

If the pet must be kept outside, put up fencing to discourage coyotes
