Author Stephen King will attend a virtual event hosted by UMass Lowell a few days before Halloween, the university announced. It's free and open to the public, so anyone can tune in.

The prolific writer – known for "The Shining," "It," and "Carrie," among dozens of titles – will join UMass Lowell English professor Andre Dubus III for an alumni book club discussion on Oct. 29, according to a statement from the university .

King, who is from Portland, Maine, is set to discuss his 2023 crime novel, "Holly," with Dubus and answer questions from the virtual audience.
