FLORENCE, Ky. —

Multiple fire crews were called out to a report of a fire at the construction site of the new Publix being built in northern Kentucky Thursday.

The call came in around 11 a.m. Florence police tell WLWT the report came in as an explosion, but turned out to be a tar machine that caught on fire at the construction site. Advertisement

The fire has been put out, officials confirm.

The Publix location is set to be the fourth coming to northern Kentucky, located at the northeast corner of U.S. Route 42 and Farmview Drive.

The 55,325-square-foot store is set to include an adjacent Publix Liquors that will offer beer, wine and spirits.

No opening date has been set for the store. It's unclear if the fire will impact any construction timeline.
