CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Tenn. (WYMT) - Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating a crash where one Kentucky man was killed.

THP troopers responded to the crash at approximately 2:42 a.m. Thursday on Fork Ridge Road at Good Lane.

Troopers said James Phillips, 48, was heading south on Highway 132 when the vehicle he was driving went off the road before hitting a utility pole.

According to THP’s preliminary report, the vehicle came to a rest off of an embankment on its side.

THP troopers said Phillips was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
