LANSING — Ten Republican state senators have called on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to fire the top two officers at the Michigan State Police, if they won't resign.
Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt, R-Porter Township, who held an Oct. 23 news conference at the Capitol to publicize an Oct. 22 letter from senators to Whitmer making the request, pointed to a spate of recent lawsuits over MSP promotion and personnel practices and a recent union survey that showed about 98% of troopers expressed non-confidence in Col. James Grady, the MSP director, and Lt. Col. Aime Brimacombe, the chief deputy director.
