FRANKFORT, Ky. —

It's been nearly 300 days since medical cannabis became legal in Kentucky, but still, it's not available.

So, where does the program stand?

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear gave an update Thursday during his regular Team Kentucky update.

As usual, he said, "We're getting closer," but he did not provide a date.

Here's what he said is happening in the supply chain:

Nest week, the first processor, which takes the raw plant and turns it into consumable product, is scheduled for an inspection.

Also by next week, Kentucky will have approved licenses in every category of the process: cultivation, processing, safety compliance and dispensary.
