WASHINGTON — Archbishop Steve Wood, who leads the Anglican Church in North America, is facing sexual misconduct allegations, according to a report published Thursday by The Washington Post .
The report, which cited a church presentment obtained by The Post, said Wood has been accused by a former children's ministry director of putting his hand against the back of her head and trying to kiss her in his office in April 2024.
He was elected to the helm of Archbishop two months later , in June 2024.
Claire Buxton, a former children's ministry director at St. Andrew's Church in the Charleston, South Carolina, area, gave an interview to The Washington Post, and also accused Wood of giving her thousands of dollars in unexpected payments from church coffers.
