Canberra could soon have a starring role in the opening sequence of a major action film.
And, much like its key role in a Liam Neeson chase scene back in 2021, Canberra won't be playing itself.
This time, it will be a small London street.
It's all part of the grand plan of millionaire entrepreneur John de Margheriti, who has spent years trying to build a film industry for Canberra.
His Academy of Interaction Entertainment has just lodged a development application for its campus in Watson, which will see the development of professional-grade film production amenities including a boutique soundstage and workshop.
It's the first phase in a 10-year $200 million project to expand the campus at Canberra Technology Park.
Mr De Margheriti, the academy's founder, said the plan was to launch
