The Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha on Thursday released detailed guidelines for the engagement of retired academicians as Guest Faculties in non-government aided colleges across the State, including Sanskrit colleges under both the 488 and 662 categories.

According to the notification, the engagement will continue until regular vacancies are filled up. However, only those colleges that have been fully integrated into the Higher Education Integrated Management System (HIMS) will be eligible to recruit retired teachers. All aided colleges have been directed to implement all HIMS modules by October 31, 2025, without fail.
