ATLANTA — Two people were hurt in a shooting in the Old Fourth Ward community on Wednesday evening.

Atlanta Police officers said they were called to the 400 block of Latta Street NE to respond to the scene. When they arrived, police found an 18-year-old critically hurt from a gunshot wound in the back. The person was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

APD said it later learned about a second person who went to Emory Hospital to get help after being shot at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
