HUNTER, N.D. — The Northern Cass football has advanced to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

The Jaguars finished the regular season 6-3, including wins against Hillsboro-Central Valley and Valley City.

"We've had our backs against the wall in a multiple games," said Northern Cass head coach Tyler Ukestad. "The biggest thing for us is we've just responded to situations."

A big response will be needed come Saturday. The Jaguars battle No. 1 Langdon Area-Munich in the first round of the Division A playoffs at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 in Langdon.

Northern Cass is led by junior quarterback Hudson Rietschel. Rietschel recently became the Jaguars' career passing yards leader with 2,654.
