It certainly appears that Mike McParland’s Nipissing Lakers men’s team won’t be able to sneak up on anybody in OUA hockey going forward. The Lakers men had what was supposed to be a killer road trip last weekend with a game in Ottawa Friday versus the Gee Gees then in Montreal the next afternoon against the McGill Redbirds. The Lakers rolled over the defending national champion Gee Gees 4-1 on Friday night. Then the next afternoon Nipissing crushed McGill 7-1 to avenge their only loss of the season.
The next afternoon the Lakers roll into Montreal to take on McGill. The Redbirds had beat Nipissing 5-3 at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens to open the regular season. The Lakers avenged that defeat in a major way routing McGill 7-1 in their own barn
