Zhao, one of the creators behind the cryptocurrency exchange, pleaded guilty and served four months in prison last year on charges related to money laundering, according to Politico . He founded Binance in 2017 and was its CEO until he resigned in 2023 . He is currently ranked 21 on Forbes’ real time billionaires list . His net worth is US$85.6 billion.
