After cancelling a concert Penticton three years ago, the Foo Fighters announced they will perform in a different part of the province.

Penticton fans will have to travel to Vancouver if they want to see the Foo Fighters at the BC Place on Sept. 20

The capacity at BC Place (54,500) is roughly 10 times larger than the South Okanagan Events Centre (5,000), where the band was supposed to play in 2022.

Back then, as COVID lockdowns were winding down, the City of Penticton earmarked $250,000 for a big show.

But of course, there was no big end-of-pandemic concert, and the quarter-million dollars was never used for a big show.

Currently, the only upcoming concerts at the SOEC are The Tea Party, James Barker Band and Hardy.
