Amy and Ira Kaplan received the ORT America Ohio Region’s 2025 Maimonides Award in recognition of their charitable contributions to the Jewish and Greater Cleveland communities.

Those who receive the annual ORT Ohio Maimonides Award are recognized for their charitable work on what 12th-century Jewish philosopher Rabbi Moses ben Maimon, commonly known as Maimonides, called the highest level of charity, which involves helping someone to become self-reliant. In accepting the award, Amy Kaplan said she and Ira were “truly humbled” when they were asked to accept the award, which was presented at the organization’s annual brunch Oct. 19 at Beechmont Country Club in Orange.
