HANSVILLE -- Sunlight pokes through the canopy around Buck Lake near Hansville as members of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society (KPMS) scan the understory for specific signs of life. Soon, they surround a dead, moss-covered stump to sniff and study the features of one of their targets: a mushroom.
