Bob Reinhart, who led Georgia State to an unlikely NCAA basketball tournament appearance in 1991, has died, according to the school's athletic department.
He was 87 years old.
Reinhart led the Georgia State men's basketball program from 1985 to 1994. In 1991, he guided the Panthers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after they won the Trans America Athletic Conference tournament.
Reinhart grew up in Dale, Indiana and played baseball and basketball for Indiana University.
Reinhart's resume includes coaching Decatur High School to three state championships. He then became an assistant coach for Mike Fratello's Atlanta Hawks before landing at Georgia State in 1985. In those nine years, he won a then-program-record 107 games.
