A new video released by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has thrown Pakistan’s military establishment into an uncomfortable glare, after one of its top commanders issued a personal challenge to Army Chief General Asim Munir.

The footage, which emerged earlier this week, shows Commander Ahmad Kazim, among the TTP’s most notorious figures, hurling direct taunts at Munir in language dripping with provocation and defiance.

"Face us if you are a man. Fight us if you have had your mother’s milk,” Kazim declares in the video, staring directly into the camera.

The clip, which also includes graphic footage from the October 8 attack on the Jogi military fort in Kurram Agency’s Dogar area, claims responsibility for the deadly raid that killed at least 22 Pakistani soldiers. The Pakistan Army,
