The Penn State Nittany Lions remain on the hunt for their new head coach following the dismissal of longtime program leader James Franklin.
Franklin was fired after the team's third consecutive loss on Oct. 11, dropping their 2025 record to 3-3. Under interim head coach Terry Smith this past weekend, the Nittany Lions suffered their fourth straight loss in a 25-24 defeat against the Iowa Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium.
Several big names have been floated as possible coaching candidates for the now-vacant Penn State job. Of these names, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko might be the most popular.
