ANN ARBOR, MI — A new brunch spot is not coming to Ann Arbor after all, despite an earlier announcement.
Solana will no longer to take over the spot of the former Turkish Village Cafe, 120 E. Liberty St., Basher Alasad, then-owner of the forthcoming Solana spot, confirmed.
“We were really excited to come to Ann Arbor and serve the community there,” Alasad, 24, wrote in an email. “Pretty much everything was ready to go.”
“However, a few business dealings and legal contracts just didn’t make sense for us financial and we couldn’t come to an agreement with the parties involved.”
He stated he hopes to open the brunch restaurant at a different location in the future.
