GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A new Mexican restaurant might be coming to the former home of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Jenison.

Isaias Manriquez-Vargas, doing business as Señor Tacos Mexican Cuisine LLC, has issued an application to open a full-service Mexican restaurant at the former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at 420 Baldwin St. in Jenison, according to records from the Georgetown Township Planning Commission.

The planning commission reviewed the application during its September meeting but tabled the discussion due to there not being enough parking spaces to meet the ordinance requirements, according to the meeting minutes.

According to township documents, the site has 26 available spaces but must have 58 to meet the 116-person max occupancy of the building.
